HUMAN Masterclass

14th of October 2019

HUMAN Masterclass

Improving Supply Chain Traceability

Using new ways of monitoring human rights in supply chains

We are delighted to organise the HUMAN 2019 masterclass. In this annual event we aim to support companies and investors in translating the aspirations of the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights (UNGPs) in solid business practice, particularly focusing on due diligence and reporting processes.

Improving insight through new technologies

The focus of this masterclass will be on how companies and investors can use new technologies to monitor human rights violations in supply chains. Especially in complicated supply chains, new technologies can offer more insight. Examples are blockchain, satellite intelligence, innovative apps and the use of GPS to map supply chains.

Companies, institutional investors and experts will share their experiences and think along on how innovations can help reducing human right violations in supply chains.

Programme

The program will consist of a plenary session and multiple breakout sessions focusing on SMEs, financial institutions and multinational companies. Participants are invited to share their views and experiences on Monday, 14 October 2019 from 10:00h to 16:00h at the PwC office in Amsterdam

The session will be held under the Chatham House Rule.

Invitations and information

Limited capacity is available for companies and institutional investors to participate in this masterclass.  If you have any questions, or if you or one of your colleagues wish to receive an invitation, please contact Hester Holtland ( hester.holtland@vbdo.nl 030-2340031 ).

What is HUMAN?

HUMAN is a partnership between ICCO Cooperation, PwC, CNV Internationaal, and VBDO to advance the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights in the Netherlands. Since 2015 the HUMAN conferences successfully facilitated a dialogue between companies, investors, civil society organizations, research institutions, and governments on human rights & business.
