Ensuring worker inclusive supply chain grievance mechanisms
There are numerous supply chain grievance mechanisms in the textile sector. MSIs and IRBs provide cross-company grievance mechanisms, individual companies set up their own systems, there are the NCPs of the OECD and now with the upcoming legislation on HREDD at EU level, the questions arise again: What elements are needed for a good functioning grievance mechanism? Which mechanisms benefit workers best? And what can and should collaboration between different mechanisms as well as with local stakeholders look like?

Informal hub
Fair Wear, PST and other MSIs collaborate together in the CARe Platform, that currently serves as informal hub to exchange experiences, learnings and best practices on access to remedy, identify synergies and support member companies in fulfilling their responsibility regarding access to remedy for workers. This group aims at scaling up their efforts and start working towards a more jointly accessible and usable grievance system.
STITCH
CNV and Fair Wear collaborate in the Sustainable Textile Initiative: Together for Change’ (STITCH) consortium for Garment Supply Chain Transformation. This is a partnership between the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Dutch trade unions: CNV Internationaal and Mondiaal FNV; Civil society organizations: The Center for Development and Integration (CDI), Civil Initiatives for Development and Peace (Cividep) India; and Multi-stakeholder initiatives: Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) and Fair Wear.
